  • Choosing the Right Koch Chemie Solvent

Koch Chemie have a wide variety of solvents to remove ink, paint, oil, tar, tree sap, waxes, stains, cosmetics etc. With many of these products being multi-purpose we’re going to take a look at each one and what they’re best suited for.

    Solvents by Product

    Orange Power

Orange Power is a fast acting but slow vaporising product based on natural orange extracts. The slow vaporising time makes it easy to use for consumers and professionals. It's formula, based on natural orange extracts makes it a safe, universal cleaner, recommended for cleaning plastics and rubber.

Removes adhesive residues, ink stains, oil, greases, tar and chewing gum, etc.

We recommend Orange Power for solvent sensitive areas like rubber and plastic trim, and using more economical options such as Fleckenwasser, Teerwasche & Eulex M for solvent resistant surfaces.

    Fleckenwasser

Organic solvent for removing greasy and organic residues left by cosmetics, oil, ink, paint, paraffin waxes, tar, etc from solvent resistant surfaces such as glass, paint, ceramic, metal, textiles.

    Eulux M

Special product for the effortless removal of adhesive, tree sap and rubber marks even from matt-painted vehicles, glass surfaces, etc.

    Tinten- & Kuli Ex

Dissolves water-soluble ink and ballpoint marks quickly and thoroughly from textiles, leather & tiles.

    Teerwasche

Solvent-based careful special cleaner for the effortless removal of tar & bitumen.

    Silicon- & Wachsentferner [coming soon]

Alcohol-based solvent for removing silicon-oils, waxes, oils such as polish residues, etc from all solvent resistant surfaces.

Koch Chemie Choosing the Right Solvent

    Stain Removal

For exterior stain removal we recommend the use of Orange Power on plastics & rubber and for more solvent resistant materials we recommend the use of Fleckenwasser or, Eulex M which a stronger product but must use with caution as it flashes quickly. For interior use we recommend the use of Orange Power and Tinten- & Kuli Ex. However it’s very important to have a clear understanding of the surfaces being treated and their solvent resistance.

    Dewaxer

Fleckenwasser is a strong dewaxing solvent, best used for decontamination to remove all remaining residues of waxes, oils etc before Iron removal. Contains acetone so it’s not recommend to remove fine polishing oils as it can soften the surface, increasing the chances of micro-marring with a microfibre towel. For this purpose we recommend Silicon- & Wachsentferner, diluted.

    Adhesive Removal

We recommend Orange Power on sensitive surfaces such as plastics & rubber. Also recommended for adhesive removal over larger surface areas because of its slow vaporising. For use on smaller, more solvent resistant areas we recommend Eulex M, a strong adhesive remover with quick flash times.

    Tar Remover

For more solvent resistant surfaces we recommend Teerwasche. For more sensitive areas such as plastics & rubber we recommend Orange Power.

Fleckenwasser is a great multi-purpose solvent for removing waxes, oils & tar during the decontamination process but for any remaining, stubborn tar deposits we recommend the follow up use of Teerwasche.

    Tree Resin

Fleckenwasser for more solvent resistant surfaces and Orange Power for the more sensitive surfaces.
